Staycation Series: Return to NYC

This will be the first in a series of short posts where I try to recreate (albeit in a much smaller way) an experience I had on one of my recent trips, or maybe I will experience a new place entirely. Sometimes, this will involve recreating a dish I had, or other times it may involve ordering something from far away. This week, I decided to order some of my favorite items from Zabar’s, a local grocery store located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. My wife and I just visited there before Christmas last year and with all of the restaurants around us closed, and no options to travel anywhere right now, this seemed like a great option to satisfy our inner-foodie. We ordered some New York Bagels, Babka, Coffee, and Black and White Cookies. While it wasn’t quite the same as enjoying the cookie while relaxing in our room at the St. Regis, it sure was fun sharing our love of these NYC treats with our kids. I definitely recommend placing an order with them if you are stuck at home and want a small taste of New York.
